Hello Everyone,

I am very glad to see this forum. I have traced one line of free Black ancestors back to at least 1820 in the state of Virginia. I have no documentation on whether they were born free or manumitted. I am interested in learning whether anyone has any knowledge on the availability of FPOC Registers in Virginia between the years 1800 to 1830. I have checked the Loudoun/Faquier CO Registers without success. Was Culpeper CO formerly part of another county? If anyone else has done successful research in this area or has any suggestions, I would appreciate your posts.
