I am also searching for FPOC Hammonds that migrated out of NC, VA & KY into Indiana prior to 1830.

Charles Hammond- born around 1780. Charles had a daughter, Dorcas Hammond who married someone with last name White. Dorcas had 2 children I know of (as one is my Gr4 grandmother)- Jane White b. 1818 Green County, KY and Jeremiah White born 1820 Green County, KY.

(An affidavit from the 1930's that Jane White filed in Oklahoma states Charles Hammond was a Cherokee. He may have been of Native Am descendent- however not sure if Cherokee. Descendents of Charles Hammond migrate and marry into other FPOC families that came out of NC/VA areas & migrated into Indiana.

Dorcas and in-laws migrate to southern Indiana, Salem Twp- Washington County prior to 1830. Spread out throughout Indiana from there.

Other FPOC names in Salem at the time of 1820-1840's -White, Chavis, Bass, Charity, Revels, Beckett, Christy and more--- No Hammonds though. So Im still searching for Hammonds connection.
