I've been reading 'Standing On The Promise'. I'm descended from Sarah James Flake, dau of James Madison Flake.

Did anyone find out anything about the Flake plantation? I've been looking for leads for years. Someone posted on another site, that Samuel's home had burned down. Perhaps that was Jordan's plantaion house?

Something I 'found' just this evening, was the posting of William Flake Joiner, on genealogy.com. I couldn't access it that way though. I went into 'AskJeeves' and typed in Flake Plantation. The William Flake Joiner posting that you'll want to read is dated March 29, 2000. I just 'found' it! But was I ever glad. He took the time to post the wills of Samuel and Jordan!

I'm interested in all things FLAKE and will gladly pay for pictures (and postage)if anyone has same.

Is there a reunion planned?
