I am researching and looking for desendants of a John Freeman
Free Man of Color b VA 1808,removed to Monroe GA, 1831 he migrated to Indianapolis IN 1844. In 1853 he was accused of being a runaway slave.
Freeman moved to Canada Fall of 1863 or Spring of 1864.
1870 Freeman moved his family to Topeka Kansas. Wife Letitia
children: Frances, Mary, Martha, Harriett,Henry, John, James,Elijah,
other names associated with the family Lucy Wright, Ulysses Nelson,
Nancy Nelson,Sigel Tarbert (m Harriett)
Harriett Freeman married a Tarbert no children at the time of her
