Looking for any information on either William Devan, Amarinta Devan or Lydia Devan. William and Lydia were born of a White woman in the family of Richard Simpsons of Frederick, MD. William in circa 1767 and Lydia in circa 1789. Amarinta Devan was owned by a Simpson female relative.

William and Lydia were freed in 1817 with certificates of freedom. I don't know about Araminta.

A Richard Devan was born in Frederick, Md circa 1801. He is my maternal ancestor. I am trying to find his ancestors. He had his marriage validated by a union army chaplian in 1866. He was married to a Mahala Hill in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Especially any information that identifies the white female that had William Devan.
