Looking for any information about the parents of Richard P. Harleston, born near Charleston, SC October 20, 1822. I found him living in Charleston as early as 1837 as a free person of color. I am certain that he was born on a Harleston Plantation, most likely that of William Harleston (1757-1816)and was very likely fathered by William Harleston II (1804-1874). Richard's mother may have been a slave named Myrtilla. Any help would be appreciated.
