So true, Art. There is a history of those two areas of Cabarrus and Rowan where a white man named Reid and others managed to open up a gold mine, and it became Gold Hill, which is in Rowan, but close to the Cabarrus County border. After there was either no or very little gold, people began living their, including my people, the House and the Crowells, and also some of the Reids who were black. A lot of history in that. Joseph
