Re: Robert Carter documents , Westmoreland County.

I'm also looking for the same documents. I have a copy of Robert Carter III full schedule of Manumission 512 slaves. The schedule list the name of the person, the plantation they are working on, and depending on their age who their mother is. I also have copies of some of the deeds of manumission for these people. Particuarly the first ones freed. I think the only place you will find the documents that you are looking for is the Virginia Historical Society and the Virginia State Library. If your ancestors were held by the Carters, you might be interested in a new book that came out in April of this year. The First Emancipator (The forgotten Story of Robert Carter the founding Father Who freed His Slaves by Andrew Levy. I also have Westmoreland County Virginia Order Book September 1705 to May 1707 & Order Book November 1703-August 1705. What is the surname that you are researching?
