I am looking for any ship records or letterbooks referring to the sale or reciept of slaves or letters referring to the origination of such slaves prior to 1791. The records in question will most likely be from Robert "King" Carter of Corotoman, Robert Carter II, John Carter, or Robert Carter III of Nomini Hall. I have not been having any luck finding any of these documents although I know they exist. I have traced back the lineage of our family back until 1791. These documents will help me determine where my ancestors came from.
