In Response To: seeking Pink TYLER - fpoc in NC ()
There was a large free-African-American Tyler family in the Granville County/ Chatham County area. One member of the family, a man named Pink Tyler, born 1776-94, was taxable in Oxford District of Granville County in 1802 and 1803 [Tax List 1796-1802, 339; 1802-09, 33]. He married Lucy Bass, 25 September 1797 Granville County bond. He was head of a Chatham County household of 5 "free colored" in 1820 [NC:192].
