The title of my Posting may have been confusing, if so, I apologize.

The posting by Denise on 2 Jan 2002 @ 9:40 AM does an excellent job in describing "Who Were Free People of Color", namely the FORMERLY ENSLAVED. With Estella's birth date of 1-27-1879 and her son, Samuel's birth date of 9-28-1910, I don't believe they would qualify historically as FPOC's.

My suggestion would be to continue searching the resources you mentioned. Florida birth, death and census records (1900-1920) would appear to be quite timely and could be fruitful.
