I am looking up our family in Wilson County, Tennessee, Bertie County, NC, and Hertford County NC. Those in those areas are Nickens, Manley, and Archer. I am also working on Barnes, Collins, and Scott in Wilson County. All of these are listed as free persons of color. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone?

Also my wife is into Creative Memories. I noticed that the web site afrigeneas.com was the first one listed in the magazine concerning genealogy. Just thought you would like to know.
