Re: MANUMISSION PAPERS
In Response To: Re: MANUMISSION PAPERS ()

Hi,

The Elizabeth Watts that I'm researching is the slaveowner who married Alexander Mcharg in Mecklelnburg Co. Va; not sure where she lived prior to Mecklenburg Co. however, I belive she could have lived in Westmorland Co. since one of the slaves were named after that county. I found this family living in Mecklenburg Co. late 1700's. Elizabeth had two daughters, one named after her, Elizabeth Quintina Mcharg and one named after her sister Mary Watts Mcharg Hepburn. Elizabeth Quintina Mcharg married Mark Alexander 1798 and Mary Watts Mcharg married William Hepburn. Elizabeth Watts had a brother named Richard Watts also. Does any of these names sound familiar to you? Thanks so much for responding!
