I am researching my ancestry. I am 20 years old. I just wanted to know if you could help me. Between 1870-1880 as though a lot of the black families even some of the white families moved from Edgecombe County to other surrounding counties. After 1870 my gg-grandfather moved from Edgecombe County to Robersonville, Martin County, NC. Also his surname changed from Staton to Andrews. Do you have any info that might help me in my journey? I have attached some of my family files along with this email.
My gg-grandfather's name was George Staton and then George Andrews. His wife's name was Ferebe Staton and then later changed to Ferebe Andrews. Thanks a lot.
