Yes the Burden and Weavers as well as the Pettiford lived along the Ohio and Indiana border.I remember hearing my great uncles talk about Darke County, Ohio and Ripley County Indiana. My great grandfather Joseph Pettiford was born in Chillicothe,Ohio in 1861 to John and Tamara Curry Pettiford. Sarah Burden Weaver was born in Tennessee and her parents moved to Indiana in Ripley County and later she married the founder of the Weaver settlement Henry Weaver of North Carolina. Sarah's daughter married Joseph Pettiford and they had nineteen children and my grandmother Orinda was my maternal grandmother. The migration of my ancestors from the south to the midwest included several families that intermarried the Weavers, Shoecrafts, Pettifords, Stewarts, Jones,and Evans. The alot of Pettifords still live in Ohio around Fremont,Xenia,Columbus and Yellow Springs.
The Burdens are an interesting group they changed the spelling of their names to Burtons when one of the Burden brothers changed the spelling from "den" to "ton" but they still claim kinship. Like I said before the really light ones have passed over, but I am still interested in them. If you have information I would loved to hear it.
