My Gr.Grandfather was Austin Crump. I have only his death cert. in 1910.His age would indicate that he was born about 1859.info on this was given by his wife . It lists his parents as Charles Crump and Mary(?) and his birthplace as Richmond, VA. But the birthplace of his parents was listed as Charles City, VA. He is listed as Black....his wife was white. While there are records at the Charles City County courthouse for land transactions for an Austin Crump, it is unlikely that this would be my ancestor as he was in NYS from about 1880 on.
