Re: CONWAY/CONAWAY..... Loudoun Co. Va
In Response To: CONWAY/CONAWAY..... Loudoun Co. Va
() Hi Art, The name Conway pops up in a few early Loudoun records. Haven't found Suther - but wonder if it could have been Souder - the surname of a Quaker family in Waterford - not that they owned slaves, but FPOC clustered in that community. The Chinns owned slaves in Loudoun early on: "Rawleigh Chinn was born after 1752, son of Thomas Chinn and Ann Conway Chinn and died between the making of his will on Oct. 14, 1815 and the proving of same on May 13, 1816." If you'd like I'll post this to Loudoun mailing list - I know you don't need to subscribe a whole nother list just for this search - and I will inquire privately to 2 list members who have helped me in the past and have tons of early data available to them. Let me know, Cuz Denise
