Greetings FPOC Researchers:

The St. Louis Missouri Public Library has a listing for Free People of Color from the St. Louis City Directories, 1821-1860.

It includes not only the name and address of these residents but their occupations, the years in which they lived and their ages.

It's a fascinating profile of FPOC and how many earned their living. Check out Mr. Addison a blacksmith AND Matchmaker. At second glance since he worked with fire perhaps he made matches for sparking fires and not for sparking marriages. LOL
