My ancestors was born in North Carolina & Virginia and settle in Ohio, as earlier as 1824. Isaac Blanchard was born 1793 in North Carolina ( according to the census ) I found him listed in 1824 in Belmont County Ohio where he got married. From then I been able to trace his descendants who all were born in Ohio. Anthony Clark was born 1815 in Virginia ( according to the census ) I found him listed in 1839 in Jefferson County Ohio where he got married. I can trace all of his descendants who all were born in Ohio.
The County that I found a large group of Blanchards was Cowan County North Carolina but I have not been able to connect to them. The Clarks I found a large group of Clarks in Loudoun County Virgina but I have not been able to connect with them.
I assume that they arrive in Ohio free person of color but I can verify this.
