One problem is that although there is an enormous quantity of records for louisiana, the existing records are by no means complete. The records are particularly "gappy" is the French period. If I were to make wild guesses about where to go next, I would suggest getting copies of the freedom papers for Marianne and the purchase records for Angelique and see if they reference any prior owner or parent.
