I am doing research on My Parker family tree. I am looking for the Parents of Henry Parker who was married to a woman named Mahaby. The earliest that I have found them is on the 1850 federal and state census listed as mulattos. By then they are in their 40's and have the following children: eleanor,eliza,giles,ann,alfred,john,susan,burwell,william,bonson,lucy, and stella.

Henry is listed as a ditcher and both Henry and Mahaby were listed as being able to read and write. Mahaby's name is spelled different on all the census for ex. Haley, Haly, Halsalar.

I believe them to be of Native American Ancestry, possibly Occaneechi or Haliwa-Saponi blood but so far do not have any written proof of that. I found them in Granville County, North Carolina but I do not know if they were born there. I just know they came from somewhere in North Carolina.

If any one has any info on Henry Parker parents, please let me know. Right know I am looking at a Cader Parker and his 2nd wife Nancy Adcock but I just started researching them and I do not know if my Parkers are of any relation to them.
