Re: FPOC's Longtown, OH Settlement

===========================================
REVELS found in the Greenville Settlement are brothers Hiram Rhoades REVELS and John REVELS. Hiram went on to become United States Senator, replacing Jefferson DAVIS. Some descendants of John are still there today while descendants of Hiram are scattered about, some in California (well known CAYTON family); Chicago, IL and Bloomington, IN. Another brother is Willis REVELS (a well known Methodist minister), although nothing points to him as ever living in the Greenville Settlement. Although is it likely he did preach there. Another REVELS found in the Greenville Settlement is Charles REVELS and progeny. However, Charles and his descendants later went by MASON. These two REVELS families are more than likely the same family, although exact relationship is not known at this time. Anyone willing to share information that would give an exact relationship between these two REVELS families would most appreciated. ==================================================
I have never come across an Absalom REVELS in regards to the Greenville Settlement. Just some fabric, most of the "people of color" involved in John BROWN's raid where REVELS related. Doug
