Thank you for that suggestion. I've been inspired to see what you've discovered about your own diverse family roots. I've written to the African American Historical Society in Fauquier County, Virginia. I sent them notes from my own genealogical research and asked if they could offer any additional information or suggestions for my family history project. I enclosed a self-addressed stamped envelope. That was at least two months ago. So far, I've had no response from them. The staff could be on vacation, or perhaps it was lost in the snail mail.
