Dear Mr. Heinegg, I was so excited to see someone finally mention the free Andersons of Virginia! I have long heard here in Alabama about How the rich Charles Anderson freed the Andersons of color back in Virgnia. Now this begs the question, whether Prince Williams, and Prince Edward Virginia are connected. I looked up information, not in front of me at present(under tons of stuff). Relating, how many Andersons were freed in Prince Edward County Virgnia, and how this newly given large grant of land was soon confiscated. I leanrd about these Andersons via the freedmans Bank of Alabama. My Grandmother was an Anderson descended from Henry (Big swede, Big Dick) Anderson and Senator Shelby Anderson of Alabama was his father. please send a reply as I feel this might well be the same family, who are very hard to trace but I do have other information as well to exchange.
