Re: Green Flake
In Response To: Re: Green Flake ()

Hello, all who are interested....

I have been in contact with Russell Leggroan, Jr. regarding his Ned Leggroan family. I am John E. LaGrone of St. Louis, MO ( son of Clyde LaGrone,Sr, who was son of Charles Leo LaGrone (St.L,MO), who was son of Andy LaGrone (EStL, IL), who was son of Elijah LaGrone (Nettleton, MS), who was son of Martha LaGrone of Nettleton. Elijah was one of from 5 to 9(??) kids of Martha and....... Both our families come from Monroe County, MS., next to Noxubee Counlty(?). Russell and I believe that his great, great aunt Martha Leggroan could be my greatest grandmother, Martha LaGrone. They seem to have been born in the 1840s and lived into the 1870s or 1880s. Russell traces his family from MS thru IL to Utah to Oregon. I trace my family from Nettleton,MS ( where the French LaGrones lived ) to IL to Missouri to, now, Colorado and Oregon (the Pattons) . We seem to re-trace them back to South Carolina, the beginnings of one Laurentz LeCrone (LaGrone) and his brother. At a recent LaGrone reunion in Tupelo, we had the three Roy LaGrones, who represented the diversity that we associate with this family. Our new Roy (direct descendant of Laurentz) feels that William may be the Mississippi LaGrone who 'related' to us.

Still, we would like assistance in building on the notes and history that we all have and that has been catalouged in detail by Mr. Marc Coulson. Let's continue to help. See you in 2006 in Grand Rapids, MI.
