I do not know the ancestry of Marie Taillefer/o. I am sure John or some of the Donato / Bello researchers will be able to provide assistance as soon as he reads your post.

Also, the CHERS group (Creole Heritage Ed and Research Society) has some researchers with ties to this family. Check their online resources and send them an email.

The St. Landry paper has had many 'columns' highlighting this family. One of them was a review of 'Creoles of Color in the Bayou Country" by Brasseaux, Fontenot and Oubre (U of MS Press, 1994).

As a last resort, call the New Orleans Public Library - Genealogy Division. They will most certainly be able to point you in the right direction, since the ancestry of Marie begins with her birth in New Orleans.
