Are you aware that there is a Thompson, Charles P. in the 1850 Census registered as a student in Hampshire County, Amherst, Massachusetts, Roll M432_321, Page 278, Image 75 at ancestry.com? He was 25 years old, but there is no racial designation, which often means white.
