Hi All-

So far I have had great luck with finding my Free family members in North Carolina via the census. I am having trouble finding out about one James M. Eady married to Martha Lomack/Lomax. I have a copy of their marriage bond, (1843), and their listing in the 1850 Census of Cumberland County NC. I would love to find out as much as I can about him. He is listed in 1850 as a Mulatto; a carpenter by profession; and he signed the marriage bond, (I noticed many could not write and used their mark...he, however, wrote in cursive, very legibly). Any help with him would be much appreciated, as I don't have immediate access to apprenticeships, land records, etc. Thanks for responses.
