Have found some new info on a map made of Norwalk CT circa 1847 it lists the names of most of the homeowners and just off East Main street there is a house listed as belonging to Metrash. It is just off the Norwalk river and I remember going there once when I was 8 or 10 and being allowed to walk the half block to the waterside. Since Adam was a boat maker it made sense to be near the river. I don't know if the house still stands I'm sure all that property has been developed since people in the Northeast love to live near bodies of water. Am going to check the alternate spellings have also found that the name has three areas of origion in the old world. Albania, Bulgaria and Egypt (did I already tell you this?). One of the down side of getting older short term memory slips. Am also trying to get more info shool for deaf. They may have passed as Native American or Portugese.
