Re: Moran in IN/IL--FPOC Family???
In Response To: Moran in IN/IL--FPOC Family??? ()
Dear L. Kimbrough, Richard MORAN is found as early as 1830 in Lawrenceburg Township, Dearborn County, Indiana. Please see the 1830 Census for the aforementioned place. It is found on Roll M19_27, page 214, Census Images at ancestry.com 390-391. You have to look at the second page to see that there are four FPOC in the household. As there is no indication that there is a while male in the household, I can only assume that Richard is the black male age 24-36 on the second sheet for Richard MORAN. So, to be brief, yes, it appears that Richard and family (except for the white female on the first sheet) were FPOC. Being enumerated by name and racial designation in the 1850 Census is further proof that he was FPOC. The other MORANs in the household besides Mary (age 46) are Rush (male, age 22), Benjamin (male, age 21), Mary (female, age 16), Birney??? (male, age 13), Richard (male, age 9), Julia (female, age 7), and Laura (female, age 3). The info at ancestry.com shows no African ancestored MORANs after 1850 in Dearborn County. May you be guided by the ancestors in your search. Regards,
