Sandra, thanks for you help. Have looked in census and found the Metrash homested listed on a map of Norwalk circa 1874. Also know that Adam married Elizabeth Peppinger from Sussex NJ. They were both hearing impared and were supposed to have met a school for the deaf. He is listed as a boat maker in the 1880 census. Their oldest son Robert Legrand was a shoemaker apprentice. Other children were in school. You encouragement is great. Will let you know if the ancestors are kind.
