I would like to post a huge thank you to Denise Oliver-Velez and to Paul Heinegg, who were so helpful with sources to help me trace my Harris ancestors in Charles City Virginia. In the past 3 1/2 months I found my ancestors listed on Paul's site(freeafricanamericans.com). Also I obtained micorofilm as Denise suggested on an interlibrary loan from the library of Virginia.
Finally,with the help of the above research, I was able to contact the Local History Center of Charles City Va. and obtain fourther documentation in terms of land records and copies of wills. I am now back to my gggg-grandparents, James and Francis Harris.I understand that James was born in 1723. Judy
