The 1870 Census records found on Ancestry.com show a Sabra Norfleet as a 16 y/o daughter of Benjamin (31) and Mary (35) Norfleet.

The Ancestry 1870 NC Census for Edgecombe County has 115 Norfleet's Indexed, 95% of them are Af-Am. The Ancestry 1880 NC Census for Edgecombe County has 130 Norfleet's Indexed, again 90+% are Af-Am.

Ancestry also has listed in ALL databases under "E" for Edgecombe County many records that I'm sure will be helpful to you. Enter your surname(s) and the Keyword(s) Black, Slave and/or Negro.

I've not researched Norfleet, but my paternal lines of Dickens, Lawrence and Thomas are from the Tarboro area of Edgecombe county. If you think we can be of any help to you let us know.
