Re: Pratt Family
In Response To: Pratt Family ()

Karen,

I don't have any information regarding your Pratt family. However, my ancestor was born on the Hunter's Hill plantation in Essex County, Virginia. The plantation was owned by a Norfork merchant named James Hunter. I am looking for descendents, but I am also looking for information to document my ancestors place on the plantation and the fact that he was "a son of the master".

I'd appreciate it if you would let me know what information you have about the Hunter plantation and what documentation you have used with your family. Do you know the name of the plantation? Did you find information that your ancestor was a son of the master and an indian woman, or was that part of you family's oral history?

Thanks,

Judith
