Re: RENO, Frank; Slavery in IA Territory; c1840

Hello jochisha8,

Thank you for your interesting posting. Francis "Frank" Reno is my 3rd great granduncle. Frank was the son of Francis & Rachael (McKee) Reno my 4th great-grandparents. His sister, Susan married Lewis Adams, Sr. and they are my 3rd great-grandparents. See Grandma Reno's Story here on AfriGeneas.
https://www.afrigeneas.com/library/reno.html

Frank was born as a FPOC in Urbana, Ohio ca 1814, married Martha "Maria" Ford in Xenia, Ohio 11 Apr 1833. He died 23 Aug 1852, Maria died 9 Feb 1891, both in Iowa City, IA.

Frank and Maria migrated to Iowa Territory ca 1840 and I recently obtained a copy/image of their registration in the Iowa Territory as FPOC.

Your posting is an example of the ever expanding and unknown to us body of knowledge about the history of our families. Thanks again for adding to my family history,
