Hi Thomasine: In researching my paternal side, I found Louisa and Anderson Oglesby listed as the parents of my great grandmother, Mahala Oglesby Stewart. Further research revealed that there was a significant group of Oglesby's of Indian descent in Fairfield County South Carolina. My cousin, the granddaughter of Mahala says that Mahala claimed that she was full-blooded Cherokee. I don't know whether that is true or not but there is and was evidence of some truth to her statement. Anyway, I just wanted to respond but I have not yet been able to find "Anderson" and "Louisa" in the same household. Here is a website that you may find interesting.
