Re: Multiethnic Origins
In Response To: Multiethnic Origins ()

Its a timely & a really interesting research article!

For a long time I have wondered how
Certain groups kept intercepting with my African Ancestors in genealogy?_it had no logic to some of the old explanations, out there
& more often than not- some matches & I, would share a common ancestor commonly known as
black/african on my family tree & noted as racially ambiguous on theirs.

It's why I like DNA testing used in conjunction with
Traditional genealogy research methods. It can clarify & verify.

I think they will soon discover similar
Percentages along the same lines when it comes to researching
The DNA origins of a few other groups & its driving a lot of fear, venom, anger, embarrassment & most of all resistance to the use of such tests in genealogy disputes and matters.

Some would rather just hold on to a myth/instead of correcting Historical slights, separation, ignorance, denials & wrongs.

I do wonder what the new gedmatch categories for Lumbee Matches will be, in light of this new study ?

Thanks for sharing the article :)
