Using FamilySearch and searching for Clifford A. Napper and/or C.A. Napper for ANY record type and a time frame from 1880 to 1895 you will find marriage records and other records to (1) M.L./Mary Luvenia "Mamie" Patterson on 23 Aug 1882 in Highland Co., Ohio, (probably Greenfield) and (2) Elizabeth Buster 20 Oct 1892 in Clinton Co., Ohio (probably Wilmington). And as you know Highland & Clinton are neighboring counties in southwestern Ohio.
The death record for Clifford A. Napper is found on FamilySearch, showing parents William & Arena, with wife Elizabeth, the image for this record is also available.
Clifford A Napper, "Ohio, Deaths, 1908-1953"
Are these marriage records for your Clifford A. Napper? Wishing you success without trying to add confusion in your Napper research.
Very interesting. Now you've given me another mystery to solve. Charles' father is given as Clifford A. Napper. My great grandfather by that name was single in 1870 and married my great grandmother in 1893, but so far I have nothing on him in between. He shows up (on ancestry.com) in every other Census but 1880, and of course, 1890 Census was lost. Could I have missed a whole other family?? I'll have to start digging! There are so many Nappers, this could perhaps be a different one, but with 23 missing years, I have to look further at this one. Gotta love this stuff!!
