Re: Dolby in NC and Ohio
In Response To: Re: Dolby in NC and Ohio ()
Thanks. In the actual image (which took me to Fold3) Julius and Mary are together, in a household by themselves. Strangely, although it didn't come up in ancestry.com under Julius' name, it did come up under Mary's. Interestingly, next to the abstract of that record is a suggestion for an 1850 record, which shows a household that includes Mary, Wiley, George, and Deborah (?) Dalby, but the head of the household is not Julius, but Bethuel Dalby. (Mary's age is horribly wrong, but given the placement of her name, immediately below Bethuel and above those of Wiley and George, this Mary is presumably an adult and not a 10-year old as reported.) Looking at the family trees that pop up as hints for Wiley Dolby, other people have listed a variety of parents for him: Bethuel: Nathaniel and Annie; Levi Dolby and Jemima Reed. None of the tress contain records to support the parental relationship. (Even the one that gives Bethuel as the father does not have the 1850 record with Bethuel attached to either Bethuel or Wiley.) So you can see why I'm looking for answers with documentation.
