Re: Sophia Sellers, the daughter of Adam Sellers
In Response To: Re: Sophia Sellers, the daughter of Adam Sellers ()
I have been researching the west central & southwestern Ohio counties and families for many years and have some connections to the surnames mentioned in this "thread".
Beginning in 2005 my DNA testing with FTDNA, their Y-DNA and Family Finder tests, have indicated a connection to the Sellers/Zellers surname. I have four (4) Y-DNA (I1d1) matches to those surnames at 66 of 67 markers. The one match of mine that may hook into your Sellers matches is that of a Henry Sellers who died ca 1820 in Preble Co., Ohio. This could possibly your Heinrich Sellers, father of Adam Sellers and grandfather of Sophia Sellers who was the wife of James Clemens. If you aren't aware Preble County is located between Darke and Warren Counties where the Clemens and Sellers families were early settlers.
My connections to these surnames also traces back to the VA/NC areas where these families were located prior to their migration in Ohio.
Please note that I was involved with this thread thru my fellow genealogist and AAGGMV member, Roane Smothers, in the 2002 time frame.
Art's Families & Other Folk
James Clemens and Sophia Sellers, were my 3rd great grandparents and I am a DNA match with two people that have the sir-name Sellers, I have looked at the tree of both and this is the line originated with Heinrich Sellers, father of Adam Sellers. I am convinced with proof that Sophia Sellers, was the daughter of Adam Sellers. I have tested on both Ancestry.com and 23andme.
