Unfortunately, few Buckingham County records have survived. However, tax records that were filed with the central government were preserved and they are available on microfilm at the Library of Virginia on interlibrary loan as "Personal Property Tax Lists." I abstracted Buckingham County but stopped in 1826. You might try the tax lists after that date.
Also, Selma found tax lists for King William County which were not included in the Personal Property lists. The originals were available at the Library of Virginia for the year 1833 under the title, "Possible emigrants to Liberia" and are filed by the Library of Virginia under "Auditor of public accounts, Free Negroes and Mulattoes, 1833." I don't know whether such a list exists for Buckingham County, but it is worth a try since it includes the name and age of everyone in each household.
