Well no doubt it's the same family, coming from John, but my Stephen was born mid 1700s..He was my 6th g-grandfather..We don't know who he made a union with to get son Philip...But we know Philip made a union with Oti, a Choctaw..Philip was supposed to be some part Choctaw himself, according to that statement I mentioned..I know that is possible, but no way to prove it..

I wonder where the first name Lawson for your Lawson Goings came from...I know there was a Lichaun Lawson who my Philip made a union with prior to going to MS and getting with Oti..He had a son, Philip Jr, and a daughter, Virginia with Lichaun...Virginia was born in SC in 1796 I believe it was..
