I didn't recall ever indicating that all or any of the free persons were slaves, I think you misread my post. I get the feeling that what you are saying is that the free people of color were not blacks or descended from Africans, and that only those people who were slaves were Negroes. I may be misunderstanding what you are trying to say, but I think a lot more than a basic understanding of history would be needed to discuss this issue further with you and for that reason I will forego it.
