For almost 20 years I have been searching for the elusive Stephen Gowen that I was never sure even existed...and I think maybe now he has come to light on your website..

An affidavit of my 3rd g-grandmother, Eveline "Goins" from a court case had her statement in it that Philip Goins was her grandfather, and that "she thought she remembered" being told that Philip's father was "Stephen". She wasn't sure, and I never could find a Stephen of the right age that could have been the one...

If the name was Stephen, and this is the right Stephen, then maybe now we finally have our line all the way back to old John...
