Hi, I'm researching my gg grandmother (Melissa Jane Barnes) and and believe that her mother may have been Missouri Josephine Cason Jefferies. There is a 1870 Census record with Missouri living alone with Melissa Jane in Arkansas. Missouri reported that she was white and 28 years old. If you have any information on this relationship your help would be much appreciated.
