I found my relatives on Halifax, NC the list of "Free Persons of Colour 1847-1865 It lists a microfilm number, but I was wonder if there way a copy of the image any where online? Or if there are any other years available? I'd like to look at it for myself. Here's what I found. A Minute of the Free Papers issued to: Free Persons of Colour April A.

Henry WINDBORN [mostly faded] 32? Years old 5 ft 11 in. high
Very dark complexion has a scar on the left arm ????[next phrase is
faded] across the left foot.
February 17
?Zylpha? WINDBORN is about 33 yrs old 5 ft 3 ½ in. high
Yellow complexion has a scar on the left foot and on the right
breast having four children to wit ?Edith Ann?, May [or
Mary?] , ?Bennett?, and ??? [next phrase completely faded]
(wife of H. WINDBORN).
