His book is no longer in print, but I purchased "Black and Free" which is edited by Alan Abrams and is the re-compilation of Woodson's book, "Free Negro Heads of Families in the United States in 1930." I bought it online from Abe's Books. I would be happy to check the index for Virginia and other States until you get the book if you like.
