Re: Price Family ~ Darke Cnty OH
In Response To: Price Family ~ Darke Cnty OH ()
The PRICE family of the Greenville Settlement, Darke County, Ohio appears to start with one Nathaniel PRICE. Nat was born about 1855 in Indiana. Perhaps he was orphaned? for in 1860 he is living in the household of Samuel & Elisa JOHNSON (don't know if relatives). In 1870 he is living in the household of Margaret MCDONALD REVELS (Hiram REVELS' aunt by marriage, married to his (Hiram's) uncle John REVELS).
Nathaniel married Adletta Ada ALEXANDER (daughter of Isaac ALEXANDER and Eliza Ann BASS SMITH), born about 1860 also in Indiana. Ada is the granddaughter of Thornton ALEXANDER Sr. the second settler in the Greenville Settlement (circa 1822) and the first on the Indiana side of the Settlement (circa 1823). She is also the great granddaughter of Reuben BASS, considered the third settler in the Settlement (circa 1823). Nat and Ada had at least six (6) children... Jacob, Henry A. (Lula Annabell RICKMAN), Alfred Nathaniel (Marie BROWN), Lulu/Lula I. (James Calderwood BURDEN), George D., and Thomas A. Doug
