Re: Enumeration of Blacks Immigrating to Ohio

Hi, Robert:

About 2 years ago, my Barnesville research gang from Oberlin and I tried for the second or third time to find a cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. In case you ever get to Mt. Pleasant, a very unique place, please be advised that the cemetery is right off of the main street behind the Methodist Church. It is huge with no one available to give you information.

At the advice of a cousin, now deceased, I attempted to find a telephone number for a caretaker of this cemetery, without success.
There may folks related to you since quite a few people orginally from Barnesville are buried there, according to my cousin, Rev. Harold L. Turner of Columbus, Ohio.

The Ohio Historical Society in Columbus is the property owner of a tiny museum on the main street in Mt. Pleasant and you must make arrangements to visit it prior to your visit.
Jane
