William, The surname KEYS[I think the Creoles heard it as "KESS" was the name of fpoc in North Carolina or Virginia. Maybe that is a clue. Btw, I read an earlier post you wrote in which you mentioned a connection to the Guidry family. My great-great-great grandmother, Olympie DONATO, had a niece named Valentine ACHER who married a man named Louis Onezime GUIDRY. He was the son of Onezime GUIDRY and Adele DERBIGNY.
